The people who are disappointed in this cd because it doesn't sound enough like her first two maybe had their expectations set too high because of the LONG wait for new solo Chante music. My expectations were set on super-high as well. If you listen carefully and more than once, you'll be assured that this cd is DEFINITELY tipping its hat to those first two cds. Remember, there were a lot of urban beats on those cds as well. The production is rich and soothing, and her vocals are still amazing--love those supersonic high notes! She also gives us two straight out jazz numbers and what treats those are. The title cut "Love The Woman" could be programmed right after "Love's Taken Over" on your very own mix tape. "First Kiss" reminds me of "I Want a Love Like That Again" from cd #1. I could go on, but suffice it to say that Chante and her producers honored her fans with this cd by including enough of the sounds we've loved since the 1st cd to make the purchase worthwile. Give the lady a break, fans!!
